ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ Virtual representation According to Greek mythology, Timenos (Greek Τήμενος) was the eldest son of Aristomachus and therefore the great-grandson of Herakles. Timenos was the brother of Cresphontes and Aristodemus, and was appointed leader of the third descent of the Heraklides. Occupying and fortifying a strategic position beyond Lerna in the Argolis, he defeated the Achaean king Tisamenos and then the three brothers divided the southern Peloponnese between them. Temenos took Argos and became the founder of the Temenid dynasty, Cresphontis treacherously Messenia and the children of the third who had been killed in the meantime, Eurysenes and Procles, Laconia.
