Champion Kansas City Chiefs, won the 2024 Super Bowl

Kansas City Chiefs win 2024 Super Bowl in overtime, become back-to-back NFL champions

The Kansas City Chiefs won their 4th Super Bowl in their history in an improbable final against the San Francisco 49ers early Monday morning in Las Vegas, Nevada.

We note that his Greek Giorgos Karlavitis plays American football with the champions.

The 58th NFL Final was thrilling all the way. San Francisco, despite going into the locker room leading 10-3 and leading nearly the entire game, saw the title slip away in the end.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes managed to tie the game at 19-19 with two minutes left in regulation and send the game into overtime for just the second time in Super Bowl history.

There again, Patrick Mahomes assisted Mecole Hardman who with a walkoff touchdown made it 25-22 and gave the Chiefs Super Bowl LVIII

With their 4th Super Bowl title, Kansas City caught the Green Bay Packers and the New York Giants.

Also, the Greek defensive end of the champions, Giorgos Karlavitis managed to get his second ring, in his second year in the championship, with Kansas, to repeat and become the 9th team in history to achieve it.

Super Bowl LVIII was the Chiefs' sixth appearance and fourth in the last five seasons in the NFL's top game, all under coach Andy Reid, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and vice captain Travis Kelce. Kansas had previously won three Super Bowls (IV, LIV and LVII) and lost two (I and LV).

Kansas City came from behind in Super Bowl 58, beating the San Francisco 49ers, 25-22 in overtime, at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium. It’s the Chiefs franchise’s fourth NFL championship, and it thwarted a 49ers attempt to avenge a Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs four years ago.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed the game-winning drive on a three-yard toss to receiver Mecole Hardman. Mahomes finished the game with 34 completions on 46 attempts and two touchdowns.

“The whole game was our whole entire season,” Mahomes said from the victory stage after the game. “Just know that the Kansas City Chiefs are never underdogs.”

For the third time in his career, Mahomes was named the Super Bowl's Most Valuable Player.

“Defense played out of their mind … special teams jumped up there and dominated right at the end,” coach Andy Reid said. “I’m so proud of the whole group.”
